Let the wax harden completely
Place a paper towel or brown paper bag over the wax
Set a warm iron on top for a few seconds at a time
Lift the paper and repeat with fresh sections until the wax transfers
Scrape off any remaining hardened wax gently with a dull knife or spoon
Vacuum the area to remove loose pieces
Blot any oily residue with a carpet-safe cleaner or a small amount of rubbing alcohol on a cloth
Test any cleaner on a hidden spot first
Rinse the area lightly with clean water and blot dry
Repeat if needed until the carpet is clean
