Use a metal pick, hatchet, or chainsaw for better chitin yield
Tame and use a Sabertooth, Direwolf, or Megatherium for efficient chitin farming
Farm caves, where many chitin-rich creatures spawn
Collect chitin from dead beetles, mantises, and other arthropods
Use a Beaver Dam or loot drops if they contain chitin
Convert keratin to chitin only through crafting recipes that require it, if applicable to your version/mods
