How to Get Urine Smell Out of Hardwood Floors?

Blot up any fresh urine immediately with paper towels or a clean cloth

Mix a solution of warm water and a few drops of mild dish soap

Dampen a cloth with the solution and wipe the affected area

Wipe again with a cloth dampened with clean water

Dry the floor completely with a clean towel

Sprinkle baking soda lightly over the dry area

Leave the baking soda on the floor for several hours or overnight

Vacuum or sweep up the baking soda

Use an enzyme cleaner made for pet urine on the affected area

Follow the product directions carefully

Test any cleaner on a hidden spot first

Avoid soaking the wood with water or cleaner

If smell remains, repeat the cleaning process

For deep odor in seams or damaged wood, sand and refinish the area

Replace boards if the urine has soaked into the wood too deeply
