Remove the wheels, pedals, chain, seat, handlebars, and accessories
Clean the bike frame thoroughly with soap and water
Degrease the frame and remove all dirt, grease, and grime
Sand the frame to remove the old finish and create a smooth surface
Wipe the frame clean with a lint-free cloth
Mask off any parts you do not want painted
Apply a metal primer in thin, even coats
Let the primer dry completely
Sand lightly between coats if needed
Apply the first coat of paint in thin, even layers
Let each coat dry fully before applying the next
Apply additional coats until the coverage is even
Let the final coat cure completely
Apply a clear coat if desired
Reassemble the bike after all paint is fully dry and cured
Inspect the finish and touch up any missed spots
