Check the car seat and grocery cart for compatibility
Use only an infant car seat or a car seat approved for cart use
Place the car seat in the main basket area of the cart
Keep the car seat facing the cart handle if it fits securely
Make sure the seat sits flat and does not wobble
Lock the car seat in place with the cart’s seat belt if available
Never place the car seat on the cart handle
Never place the car seat in the child seat area unless the cart is designed for it
Keep the car seat centered to reduce tipping
Do not put heavy items around or on top of the car seat
Stay with the cart at all times
Avoid hanging bags from the cart handle
Use a stroller or baby carrier if the car seat does not fit securely
