Read the car seat and vehicle manuals before installation
Check the car seat’s weight, height, and age limits
Choose rear-facing or forward-facing mode based on your child’s size
Place the car seat in the back seat
Position the car seat on the vehicle seat
Use either the LATCH system or the vehicle seat belt, not both unless the manual allows it
If using LATCH, attach the lower anchors to the vehicle anchors
If using a seat belt, thread the belt through the correct belt path
Lock the seat belt if required by your vehicle
Tighten the installation until the car seat does not move more than 1 inch side to side or front to back at the belt path
Adjust the recline angle to the correct position
For rear-facing installation, make sure the recline indicator is within the allowed range
For forward-facing installation, attach the top tether if required or available
Place the child in the seat and buckle the harness
Tighten the harness so it fits snugly
Check that the chest clip is at armpit level
Verify that the car seat is secure before each ride
