Rinse the back of the stain with cold water
Apply liquid laundry detergent directly to the stain
Gently rub the detergent into the fabric
Let it sit for 5 to 10 minutes
Rinse thoroughly with cold water
Repeat if the stain remains
For stubborn stains, soak the clothing in cold water with detergent
Apply a stain remover before washing
Wash the garment in the warmest water safe for the fabric
Check the stain before drying
Do not machine dry until the stain is gone
For white cotton, use a diluted bleach solution if the care label allows
For delicate fabrics, use a gentle stain remover and hand wash
For old stains, soak longer before washing
