Check the fuel level and add fresh fuel if needed
Check the engine oil level
Make sure the auger control and drive control are released
Insert the ignition key, if equipped
Turn the fuel valve on, if equipped
Move the choke to the start position
Set the throttle to fast, if equipped
Prime the engine as directed on the machine, if equipped
Press the electric start button, if equipped, or pull the recoil starter handle
After the engine starts, gradually move the choke to the run position
Let the engine warm up before operating
Engage the auger and drive controls only when ready to clear snow
