Provide 4–6 hours of direct sunlight daily, or use a strong grow light
Use only distilled, reverse osmosis, or rainwater
Keep the soil consistently moist, never dry
Use nutrient-poor soil such as sphagnum peat moss mixed with perlite or silica sand
Plant in a pot with drainage holes
Avoid regular potting soil, fertilizers, and tap water
Feed only small live insects occasionally if needed
Do not trigger the traps unnecessarily
Let each trap close and digest prey on its own
Remove dead leaves and spent traps carefully
Keep humidity moderate; normal household humidity is usually fine
Provide a winter dormancy period for 3–4 months
Reduce watering and light slightly during dormancy
Keep the plant in a cool location during dormancy
Repot every 1–2 years with fresh carnivorous plant soil
Watch for pests and mold regularly
