Make sure the oven is connected to gas and electricity if required
Open the oven door
Check that the oven knob is in the off position
Turn the oven control knob to the desired temperature or to the ignition setting
If your oven has a pilot light, light it according to the manufacturer’s instructions
If your oven has electronic ignition, press and hold the ignition button if needed
Wait for the burner to ignite
Keep the knob pressed for a few seconds if required
Release the knob and confirm the flame is lit
Close the oven door
Set the temperature as needed
If the oven does not light, turn it off and wait before trying again
