Insert batteries into the Firestick remote
Plug in and power on the Fire TV Stick
Wait for the Fire TV home screen to load
Hold the Home button on the remote for about 10 seconds
Wait for the remote light to blink or for the on-screen pairing message
If it does not pair, press and hold the Home button again
Move the remote closer to the Fire TV Stick
Unplug the Fire TV Stick for 10 seconds and plug it back in
Try pairing again with the Home button
If needed, use the Fire TV app as a temporary remote
Go to Settings
Select Controllers and Bluetooth Devices
Select Amazon Fire TV Remotes
Select Add New Remote
Press and hold the Home button on the new remote
Select the remote when it appears on screen
