Dab the marker from the outside of the stain toward the center
Rinse the area with cold water
Apply liquid laundry detergent directly to the stain
Gently rub the detergent into the fabric
Let it sit for 5 to 10 minutes
Wash the clothing in the hottest water safe for the fabric
Check the stain before drying
Repeat the treatment if needed
Use hand sanitizer if rubbing alcohol is unavailable
Use acetone on durable fabrics only
Test any cleaner on a hidden area first
Avoid using heat until the stain is gone
Take delicate or dry-clean-only items to a professional cleaner
