Open Instagram and create or select a post, story, reel, or comment
Tap Tag people on a post before sharing
Tap the photo or video where you want to add a tag
Search for the person’s Instagram username
Select the correct account from the list
Save the tag and publish the post
For a story, use the Mention sticker or type @username
For a reel, tag people during the posting process if available
In a comment or caption, type @ followed by the person’s username
To tag someone in a photo already posted, open the post and tap Edit
Tap Tag people and add the username
Make sure the account is public or the person allows tagging
Use the exact username to avoid tagging the wrong account
