Unplug the dryer or turn off the gas supply
Remove the lint screen and clean off lint
Wash the lint screen with warm water and mild soap if residue is present
Vacuum the lint trap housing
Pull the dryer away from the wall
Disconnect the vent hose
Clean lint from the vent hose and vent opening
Clean the dryer drum with a damp cloth and mild detergent
Wipe the door, gasket, and interior surfaces
Clean the moisture sensor bars if present
Vacuum dust and lint from behind and underneath the dryer
Reconnect the vent hose securely
Check the outside vent for blockage
Clean the outside vent cover
Plug the dryer back in or restore gas supply
Run a short test cycle to confirm proper airflow
Clean the lint screen before every load
Clean the vent system regularly
