Apply a cold compress or ice wrapped in a cloth for 10–20 minutes at a time during the first 24 hours
Switch to a warm compress after 24–48 hours to help blood reabsorb
Gently massage the area if it is not painful
Use arnica gel or vitamin K cream if available
Cover it with makeup or clothing if needed
Avoid irritating the area further
Take over-the-counter pain relief if needed and safe for you
Seek medical advice if it is very large, very painful, or does not improve within 1–2 weeks
