Boil water
Add ground coffee to a mug or heat-safe cup
Pour a small amount of hot water over the grounds
Stir well
Let it steep for 3 to 5 minutes
Stir again
Let the grounds settle for 1 minute
Carefully sip from the top, leaving the grounds behind
If available, strain through a fine mesh sieve, cheesecloth, or paper towel into another cup
Add milk, sugar, or other extras if desired
