Gather coarse-ground coffee, cold filtered water, a jar or pitcher, a fine mesh strainer or coffee filter, and a spoon
Use about 1 cup of coffee grounds for every 4 cups of water
Place the coffee grounds in a jar, pitcher, or filter setup
Add cold filtered water slowly over the grounds
Stir gently to wet all the grounds evenly
Cover the container
Let it steep in the refrigerator for 12 to 24 hours
Strain the coffee through a fine mesh strainer, coffee filter, or cheesecloth
Strain again if needed for a cleaner finish
Serve over ice or dilute with water or milk if desired
Store the cold drip coffee in the refrigerator for up to 1 week
