How To Make Prime Rib?

Choose a prime rib roast

Remove it from the refrigerator 2 to 4 hours before cooking

Pat the roast dry

Season generously with salt and black pepper

Add garlic, rosemary, thyme, or other preferred seasonings

Preheat the oven to 450°F

Place the roast fat side up in a roasting pan or on a rack

Roast for 15 to 20 minutes

Reduce the oven temperature to 325°F

Continue roasting until the desired internal temperature is reached

Use a meat thermometer to check the center of the roast

Remove at 120°F to 125°F for rare

Remove at 130°F to 135°F for medium rare

Remove at 140°F to 145°F for medium

Rest the roast for 20 to 30 minutes

Slice against the grain

Serve immediately
