Apply a paint stripper suitable for wood
Let the stripper sit for the recommended time
Remove softened paint with a scraper
Use a nylon brush or steel wool for detailed areas
Repeat stripper application if needed
Sand the surface with medium-grit sandpaper
Sand again with fine-grit sandpaper
Wipe away dust with a damp cloth or tack cloth
Clean the wood with mineral spirits or the recommended cleaner
Dispose of paint residue and stripper waste safely
Refinish or seal the wood after the surface is dry
