Hold the boomerang by one end with the curved side facing away from you
Stand in an open area away from people, animals, windows, and obstacles
Face into a light breeze or wind
Keep your throwing arm nearly vertical or at a slight angle
Grip it firmly but not tightly
Throw it with a quick, snapping motion, not a push
Aim slightly to the right of your target if you are right-handed
Aim slightly to the left of your target if you are left-handed
Release it with spin
Keep your wrist firm at release
Do not throw it flat like a frisbee
Follow through with your arm after release
Watch where it lands and adjust your angle and force next time
