Boil water
Grind coffee beans to a medium-coarse or medium-fine texture
Add coffee grounds to a mug, jar, or heat-safe container
Pour hot water over the grounds
Stir gently
Let the coffee steep for 3–5 minutes
Let the grounds settle to the bottom
Slowly pour the coffee into another cup, leaving the grounds behind
Use a spoon to hold back the grounds if needed
Add milk, sugar, or other extras if desired
