Plug in your Echo Dot and wait for the light ring to turn orange
Open the Alexa app on your phone or tablet
Sign in to your Amazon account
Tap Devices
Tap the plus icon
Tap Add Device
Select Amazon Echo
Select Echo Dot
Choose your Echo Dot generation
Follow the on-screen setup steps
Connect your phone to the Echo Dot’s temporary Wi-Fi network if prompted
Select your home Wi-Fi network
Enter your Wi-Fi password
Wait for the Echo Dot to connect
Confirm the light ring turns blue or the app shows setup complete
Test by saying a voice command to Alexa
