Find a notary public
Bring a valid government-issued photo ID
Bring the document that needs notarization
Do not sign the document before meeting the notary unless instructed to do so
Ask the notary to review the document requirements
Sign the document in front of the notary if required
Have the notary verify your identity and witness the signature
Pay the notarization fee if applicable
Receive the notarized document with the notary’s signature and seal
