How To Make Gyro Meat?

2 pounds ground lamb or a mix of lamb and beef

1 small onion, grated

3 cloves garlic, minced

2 teaspoons salt

1 teaspoon black pepper

2 teaspoons dried oregano

1 teaspoon dried thyme

1 teaspoon dried rosemary

1 teaspoon ground cumin

1 teaspoon paprika

1/2 teaspoon ground coriander

1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 egg

1/2 cup breadcrumbs or crushed pita crumbs

Preheat oven to 350°F

Combine all ingredients in a large bowl

Mix until very well combined and sticky

Transfer mixture to a loaf pan or shape into a tight log

Press firmly to remove air pockets

Bake for 45 to 60 minutes

Cook until the internal temperature reaches 160°F

Let rest for 10 minutes

Slice thinly

Brown slices in a skillet before serving if desired
