Use a double-six domino set for 2 to 4 players, or a larger set for more players
Place the double-blank domino in the center as the starting tile
Shuffle all dominoes face down
Each player draws their starting hand
The number of dominoes drawn depends on player count
Keep the remaining dominoes as the boneyard
Decide who starts, usually the player with the highest double
On your turn, play one domino from your hand if possible
Match one end of your domino to an open end on the train
If you cannot play, draw one domino from the boneyard
If the drawn domino can be played, you may play it immediately
If not, your turn ends
Start your own train by placing a domino from the center double to your side
If you do not start your own train, your train is marked open
Other players may play on your open train
You may play on the Mexican Train if it has been started
The Mexican Train is a shared train that anyone may use
Doubles must be played lengthwise and require an extra matching play
If you play a double, you must satisfy it before ending your turn
If you cannot satisfy a double, draw until you can or the boneyard is empty
If the boneyard is empty and you still cannot satisfy the double, your turn ends with the double unresolved
A player’s train becomes open if they cannot play on it during their turn
Continue taking turns clockwise
The round ends when one player plays all their dominoes
The round also ends if no player can make a legal move
Score the round by adding the pips left in each opponent’s hand
The player with the lowest total score after all rounds wins
Play multiple rounds until a target score is reached or agreed upon
