Unplug the Fire TV Stick from power
Plug the Fire TV Stick back in
Wait for the Home screen to load
Press and hold the Home button on the remote for 5–10 seconds
Release the Home button when the pairing prompt appears
Select your language if prompted
Wait for the remote to pair successfully
If pairing doesn’t start, press and hold the Home button again for 10–15 seconds
If your remote is a newer model, also press and hold the Back button and the Home button together for 10 seconds
If your remote still won’t pair, remove and reinsert the remote batteries
Use fresh batteries if needed
Try pairing again by holding the Home button for 5–10 seconds
If using a replacement remote, put the Fire TV Stick on the Home screen and hold the Home button for 10–15 seconds
If pairing is still failing, use Settings on the Fire TV
Go to Settings
Select Controllers & Bluetooth Devices
Select Amazon Fire TV Remotes
Select Add New Remote
Follow the on-screen instructions
