How To Steam Dumplings?

Fill a steamer or pot with water, making sure the water does not touch the steamer basket

Bring the water to a boil

Line the steamer basket with parchment paper, cabbage leaves, or a lightly oiled liner

Arrange the dumplings in a single layer with space between them

Place the basket over the boiling water and cover with a lid

Steam fresh dumplings for 8 to 12 minutes

Steam frozen dumplings for 10 to 15 minutes

Check that the wrappers look translucent and the filling is hot

Remove the dumplings carefully with tongs or a spatula

Serve immediately with dipping sauce
