Unplug the iron and let it cool completely
Empty any remaining water from the tank
Wipe the soleplate with a soft damp cloth
Use a mild soap solution for stubborn dirt
Clean steam holes with a cotton swab
Remove mineral buildup with equal parts water and white vinegar if needed
Wipe the soleplate again with a clean damp cloth
Dry the iron thoroughly with a soft towel
Clean the exterior with a damp cloth
Store the iron upright in a dry place
