How To Clean Your Washing Machine?

Run an empty hot-water cycle with 1–2 cups of white vinegar

Wipe down the rubber door seal with a cloth dampened with vinegar

Clean the detergent drawer by removing it, soaking it in warm water, and scrubbing residue with an old toothbrush

Clean the drain pump filter (if accessible) by placing a towel underneath, opening the filter, and removing lint and debris

For front-load machines, clean the door glass and the detergent dispenser channels

Sprinkle baking soda in the drum, then run a short hot cycle (optional after vinegar)

Clean any visible mold or buildup in the detergent drawer and seal area with a mixture of equal parts water and vinegar or a mild bathroom cleaner

For heavily soiled machines, run an additional hot cycle with detergent or a washing-machine cleaner product (follow label instructions)

Run a final rinse cycle to remove any remaining vinegar or cleaner

Wipe the drum, door, and seal dry with a clean cloth

Leave the door and detergent drawer slightly open to air-dry and prevent odors
