Turn on Location Services and allow GPS access for your apps
Enable High Accuracy / GPS mode (not Battery saving)
Turn Airplane mode on for 10–20 seconds, then turn it off
Restart your phone
Toggle GPS/location off and back on
Update your phone’s OS and Google/Apple location services app components
Re-seat permissions: Settings → Location → App permissions → allow “While using” (or “Always”)
Calibrate compass (if available): move in a figure-eight pattern outdoors
Ensure date and time are set to Automatic
Check for software updates from your carrier (if applicable)
Test in an open outdoor area away from buildings, trees, and windows
Remove phone case or accessories that may interfere with signal
Turn off VPN or restrict location spoofing features
Disable Battery Saver / Low Power Mode temporarily
Clear location/GPS app cache (Android) or reset location settings (iOS)
Force stop and reopen the Maps app
Update Maps app
Reset network settings (if location depends on assisted GPS)
Reset location & privacy settings (iOS) or location settings (Android)
Check for device hardware issues: try another navigation app or another device to compare
If available, run GPS/Location diagnostics in device settings
Contact your carrier or device manufacturer for hardware repair if GPS never works or is consistently inaccurate
