Lay a pair of well-fitting pants flat on a smooth surface
Measure the waistband straight across from one side to the other
Double the waistband measurement to get the waist size
Measure the inseam from the crotch seam to the bottom hem
Measure the outseam from the top of the waistband to the bottom hem
Measure the rise from the crotch seam to the top of the waistband
Measure the hip width across the fullest part of the pants
Measure the thigh width across one leg near the crotch
Compare your measurements to the brand’s size chart
Check whether the pants are labeled in waist and inseam sizes or numeric sizes
