Select the text, file, or item you want to copy
Press Ctrl + C on Windows or Command + C on Mac
Click where you want to paste
Press Ctrl + V on Windows or Command + V on Mac
To cut instead of copy, press Ctrl + X on Windows or Command + X on Mac
You can also right-click the selected item and choose Copy
You can also right-click the destination and choose Paste
On some laptops, use the touchpad to select text by dragging
For files, you can copy and paste them in File Explorer or Finder
Use Ctrl + A on Windows or Command + A on Mac to select all before copying
