Blot the stain immediately with a clean cloth or paper towel
Do not rub the stain
Sprinkle salt on the stain to absorb excess wine
Pour cold water through the back of the fabric
Apply liquid laundry detergent or dish soap directly to the stain
Let it sit for 5 to 10 minutes
Rinse with cold water
For white or colorfast fabrics, apply a stain remover or a mix of hydrogen peroxide and dish soap
Wash the garment in cold water
Check the stain before drying
Repeat the treatment if the stain remains
Air-dry only until the stain is gone
Use white vinegar if needed before washing
