Tell them what the dog ate, how much, and when it happened
Follow their instructions exactly
Do not induce vomiting if the dog is unconscious, having seizures, having trouble breathing, or already vomiting
Do not induce vomiting if the dog swallowed a sharp object, corrosive substance, battery, or petroleum product
Do not give salt, mustard, hydrogen peroxide, or any home remedy unless a vet specifically instructs you to do so
Keep the dog calm and prevent further eating or drinking unless instructed otherwise
Bring the product packaging or a sample of the substance to the vet if possible
