Choose the type of disc you want to burn (CD-R or CD-RW)
Get CD burning software (e.g., Windows Media Player, ImgBurn, Nero, or similar)
Insert a blank writable CD into your disc drive
Open the CD burning software
Select the burn type:
Audio CD (for playing in most CD players) or
Data CD (for files/folders on a computer)
If making an audio CD:
Create or select an Audio CD project
Drag and drop music files into the track list
Set the order of tracks if needed
Click Burn/Start
If making a data CD:
Create or select a Data CD/DVD project (CD)
Add files and/or folders to the project
Click Burn/Start
Confirm the write speed (use a moderate speed if prompted)
Review disc settings (capacity, file system if shown, and disc label if applicable)
Click Burn/Start and wait for the process to finish
Eject the disc after burning completes
Verify by playing the audio CD or opening files on the data CD
