How To Flush Brake Fluid?

Gather the correct brake fluid, a wrench, clear hose, catch bottle, jack stands, and safety gear

Park on a level surface and secure the vehicle

Check the brake fluid reservoir type and fill it to the proper level

Remove the reservoir cap and keep the fluid clean

Start with the brake caliper or wheel cylinder farthest from the master cylinder

Attach the clear hose to the bleeder screw and place the other end in a catch bottle

Have an assistant press and hold the brake pedal

Open the bleeder screw to let old fluid and air escape

Close the bleeder screw before the pedal is released

Repeat the press, hold, open, close cycle until clean fluid flows without bubbles

Refill the reservoir frequently so it never runs dry

Move to the next wheel in the proper bleeding order

Repeat the process for all wheels

Tighten all bleeder screws securely

Top off the reservoir to the correct level

Reinstall the reservoir cap

Check for leaks at all bleeder screws and fittings

Pump the brake pedal to confirm firmness

Test the brakes carefully at low speed before normal driving

Dispose of old brake fluid properly
