1 baguette or Italian bread
3–4 ripe tomatoes, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
2–3 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil
Salt, to taste
Black pepper, to taste
Slice the bread
Toast or grill the bread until crisp
Mix tomatoes, garlic, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, basil, salt, and pepper
Spoon the tomato mixture onto the toasted bread
Serve immediately
