Apply topical antifungal nail lacquer or solution consistently
Take oral antifungal medication if prescribed
Trim and thin the affected nail regularly
Keep nails clean and completely dry
Wash and dry feet and hands thoroughly after bathing
Change socks daily and wear breathable shoes
Disinfect nail tools after each use
Avoid sharing nail clippers, files, or shoes
Treat athlete’s foot or other fungal infections at the same time
Use antifungal powder or spray in shoes if recommended
Remove and replace contaminated footwear if needed
Avoid nail polish and artificial nails during treatment
Continue treatment for the full prescribed duration
Seek medical care if pain, swelling, drainage, or worsening occurs
