Deflate the tyre completely if it is not already deflated
Inspect the rim and tyre for damage, dirt, or debris
Clean the rim and tyre bead seats
Check that the tyre size matches the rim size
Apply tyre lubricant to the tyre beads if needed
Place one bead of the tyre over the rim edge
Work the first bead fully into the rim well
Insert the inner tube if using a tube-type tyre
Start the second bead over the rim edge
Work the second bead onto the rim using your hands
Keep the opposite side of the bead in the rim well to create slack
Use tyre levers only if necessary and carefully
Avoid pinching the tube if one is fitted
Ensure both beads are seated evenly all around the rim
Inflate the tyre slowly
Check that the beads pop into place correctly
Inflate to the recommended pressure
Inspect for leaks, bulges, or uneven seating
Refit the wheel if it was removed
