Turn off the faucet to a low flow
Hold the spoon under the water at a slight angle
Keep the spoon close to the sink bottom
Rinse the spoon from the handle toward the bowl
Use your other hand to block splashes if needed
Wet the sponge or cloth before scrubbing
Scrub gently to avoid flicking water
Rinse slowly with the spoon tilted downward
Shake off excess water inside the sink
Dry the spoon with a towel before lifting it away
