Connect your iPhone to your computer with a USB cable
Unlock your iPhone and trust the computer if prompted
On Windows: Open the Photos app
On Windows: Select your iPhone from the Photos app sidebar
On Windows: Choose the photos/videos you want and click Import
On macOS: Open the Photos app
On macOS: Select your iPhone under Locations or Devices
On macOS: Select photos/videos and click Import or Import All
If you don’t see your iPhone: Check the USB cable, try a different port, and ensure iPhone is unlocked
For macOS with iCloud Photos enabled: Download from Photos on your Mac instead of importing from the iPhone
For Windows with iCloud Photos enabled: Download from the iCloud Photos folder or Photos app depending on your setup
Use File Explorer (Windows) as an alternative: Open This PC, open your iPhone, then open the DCIM folder and copy files
Use Image Capture (macOS) as an alternative: Open Image Capture, select your iPhone, choose files, then click Import
Use AirDrop (wireless): Select photos on iPhone, tap Share, tap your computer in the AirDrop list, accept on the computer
Use iCloud Drive: Enable iCloud Photos or upload images to iCloud Drive, then download on the computer
Use Google Photos/Dropbox/OneDrive: Upload from iPhone app, then download on the computer
After transferring: Safely disconnect by unplugging the cable or using the computer’s “eject” option if available
