Unplug or remove any electronics (for wired pads, disconnect; for RGB/heated pads, remove power and follow specific guidance)
Shake out loose debris and dust
Spot-test a small hidden area with your cleaner
For most cloth mousepads:
Fill a basin with lukewarm water
Add a small amount of mild dish soap or gentle laundry detergent
Submerge the mousepad and gently agitate with your hands
Let soak 10–20 minutes if heavily soiled
Gently scrub stains with a soft cloth or sponge
Rinse thoroughly until water runs clear
For stubborn stains (cloth pads):
Use a diluted mixture of mild detergent and water on the stained area
Gently scrub, then rinse thoroughly
For rubber-backed cloth pads:
Avoid soaking the entire pad for extended periods
Focus cleaning on the top surface
Rinse quickly and thoroughly
For washable desk mats/large cloth pads:
Use a bathtub or large basin
Clean in sections if needed
For faux-leather or vinyl pads:
Wipe with a soft cloth dampened with mild soapy water
Wipe again with a cloth dampened with plain water
Dry immediately with a dry towel
Avoid using:
Bleach
Harsh solvents
Strong degreasers
Ammonia-based cleaners
Abrasive scrubbers
Drying:
Pat dry with a clean towel
Air-dry flat on a clean, dry surface
Ensure full drying before use
Speed up drying:
Place it in a well-ventilated area
Use a fan to improve airflow
Do not:
Put in a dryer
Expose to direct high heat
Wrinkle or fold while drying
Optional maintenance:
Wipe with a damp microfiber cloth regularly
Spot-clean spills immediately
Keep food and drinks away from the surface
