Rinse the rice until the water runs mostly clear (optional but helps reduce excess starch)
Add the rice to the inner pot
Add the correct amount of water to the inner pot (use the markings on the pot if available)
Level the rice surface
Place the inner pot into the rice cooker
Close the lid
Select the appropriate setting (e.g., White Rice, Brown Rice, Quick, or Steam) if your cooker has options
Press Start/On
Wait for the cycle to finish (it will switch to Keep Warm automatically on many models)
Let the rice rest with the lid closed for 5 to 10 minutes after cooking
Fluff the rice with a fork or rice paddle
Serve or keep warm as needed
