Rinse the wild rice under cold water
Use 1 cup wild rice to 3 to 4 cups water or broth
Bring the liquid to a boil
Add the wild rice
Reduce heat to low
Cover and simmer for 40 to 60 minutes
Check for tenderness and add more liquid if needed
Drain any excess liquid
Fluff with a fork
Let it rest for 5 minutes before serving
