Wash and dry your hands
Insert a test strip into the glucometer
Prick the side of your fingertip with a lancet
Gently squeeze out a small drop of blood
Touch the blood drop to the test strip
Wait for the reading to appear on the screen
Record the result if needed
Dispose of the lancet and strip safely
Follow the device instructions for calibration and maintenance
