Complete 10+2 with Science stream, preferably Biology, Chemistry, and Physics
Earn a bachelor’s degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Agriculture, Veterinary Science, Chemistry, or a related field
Gain knowledge of food laws, food hygiene, food processing, and quality control
Prepare for and qualify the required Food Safety Officer recruitment examination
Meet the age, nationality, and eligibility criteria set by the recruiting authority
Apply through state public service commissions, food safety departments, or relevant government recruitment boards
Clear written tests, interviews, and document verification rounds
Develop practical experience through internships or jobs in food inspection, quality assurance, or laboratory testing
Learn food standards, inspection procedures, sampling methods, and contamination control
Stay updated with FSSAI regulations and other food safety rules
Build skills in observation, communication, report writing, and regulatory compliance
Obtain any required training or certification preferred by the recruiting body
Keep physical and medical fitness as per job requirements
