Drink plenty of clear fluids

Rest as much as possible
Eat bland foods if you can tolerate them
Avoid dairy, alcohol, caffeine, greasy foods, and spicy foods
Wash hands often
Avoid preparing food for others
Do not take anti-diarrheal medicine if you have a high fever or bloody stool unless a doctor says it is okay
Seek medical care if symptoms are severe, last more than a few days, or you cannot keep fluids down
Get urgent help if you have signs of dehydration, blood in vomit or stool, severe abdominal pain, or trouble breathing
