Let the area dry completely
Inspect for gaps, cracks, or damaged trim
Apply painter’s tape along the edges if needed
Cut the caulk tube nozzle at a 45-degree angle
Load the caulk tube into a caulking gun
Apply a continuous bead of exterior-grade caulk along the seams
Smooth the caulk bead with a caulk tool or wet finger
Remove painter’s tape before the caulk skins over
Check for missed spots and fill any gaps
Allow the sealant to cure according to the product instructions
Test for drafts after curing
Reapply sealant as needed around worn areas
