How To Help Gassy Baby?

Burp your baby during and after feeds

Feed in a more upright position

Keep the baby upright for 20 to 30 minutes after feeding

Check the bottle nipple flow if bottle-feeding

Make sure the latch is deep and comfortable if breastfeeding

Offer smaller, more frequent feeds

Try gentle tummy massage

Move the baby’s legs in a bicycle motion

Give supervised tummy time when awake

Rock, sway, or gently walk with the baby

Use a warm bath

Check for signs of overfeeding

Review your own diet if breastfeeding and certain foods seem to trigger gas

Try a different formula only with your pediatrician’s guidance

Contact a pediatrician if the baby has vomiting, fever, blood in stool, poor weight gain, hard swollen belly, or severe crying
