Check for a charging icon in the battery menu bar icon
Look for a lightning bolt inside the battery icon
Open Control Center and check the battery status
Click the battery icon to see “Charging” or “Not Charging”
Check the battery percentage to see if it is increasing
Plug in the charger and see if the MagSafe connector light turns amber or green
On USB-C models, confirm the charging cable is firmly connected
Go to System Settings and check Battery status
Use the Apple menu and select System Settings, then Battery
If the battery icon shows a plug symbol, the MacBook Air is charging
